I'm interested in touring the Erie Canal Heritage Trail, but not with 700 other riders, as was hosted in July for I believe the 18th year. I recently rode the Erie Canal Trail to Palymra, falling short of my destination of Seneca Falls on a three day tour due to mechanical and logistical problems. As a strong alternative, I'm also interested in a potential ride to Montreal, which I have heard very good things about. At my pace, the ride to Albany is going to take 7 days, and to Montreal, 8 days. For the Albany ride, I would probably not do any sightseeing there. However, Montreal demands a two or three day stay, as there is a lot to see and do. If anyone has any interest in planning such a tour for say, next June or July, please post here and let's start a discussion about the logistics. I am not interested in leading the tour, due to my relative inexperience in touring. I might also be interested in a tour into PA or OH, if you have in mind a good destination. I would like to limit the distance to within about a 400 mile radius of Buffalo, and return via public transportation or sag wagon. Ideally, this would involve under ten riders, but if there is enough interest, we could divide into smaller groups.
