I decided to try Rich Amantia's Thursday Night North ride for a change of pace, and I had a blast. He offered a 36 mile ride that appealed to me. It took me about 35 minutes to get up there, but it was an easy drive. He offered three distances, but they seemed like variations of the same route. I'm completely unfamiliar with this area, so I was hoping to be able to stick with a group. The road conditions were good for the most part. We didn't encounter a lot of traffic. Some of the roads were spectacular. The riders were typical NFBC, friendly and skilled. The weather was amazing. There is always a bit of a wind up there (invisible hills). I'm really glad I went up there. Breaking your pattern can be a good thing.
