    Dear Members:

The Spring Trash and Treasure Ride scheduled for Saturday 4/23 has been postponed, so as not to confict with the memorial service for Larry Reade.

Long time NFBC member Larry Reade passed away last month, and his memorial service is scheduled for Saturday 4/23 at 10 AM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Amherst, 6320 Main St in Williamsville. There is also a memorial ride planned for the following day Sunday 4/24 departing at 10 AM from Wide Waters Marina in Lockport.

Spring Trash and Treasure will be re-scheduled at a later date.

A brief reminder to those who weren't able to attend the NFBC spring meeting: We WILL be asking members to sign in at rides and we WILL be tabulating club miles ridden.

Our hope is topull the club back together after the disjointed times of the pandemic. Meeting together at the stipulated ride time, riding the same route together, and coming back to the parking lot, perchance to share some stories and a refreshment, is much of what makes the NFBC a club. It is what makes a bike ride a social occasions.

This means we need members to volunteer to be ride leaders for the weekend rides. This is light duty: show up half an hour before ride time, distribute cue sheets, oversee member sign-ins, introduce any new members who might show up, and review general safety instructions including any specific information about hazards on the route.

Afterward, mail in the sign-in sheets and return the ride packet to a member of the ride committee -- especially me or Liz Skelton.

Most of our regular week day morning and evening rides have regular ride leaders already volunteered, but if you have a burning desire to be of service, please let Liz or me know you are interested.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the parking lot, if not on the road.
